Welcome to the YWCA Wheeling

Elected were Karen Stakem, president; Dea Kennen, president-elect; Colleen Mindzak, vice president; Penny C. Evans, secretary, and Heather Lapp, treasurer.

The group also elected Evans, Hali Exley, Kim Florence, Mindzak and Barbara Pettit to second three-year terms as board members. Dr. Carolyn Darling, Angela Fennerty, Patty Kota, Tina West and Nini Zadrozny were elected to their first three-year terms on the board.

Family Violence Prevention Program Gets Wheels

YWCA Visitations Give Parents a Second Chance

December 22, 2008- Through a supervised visitation program, non-custodial parents have the chance to see their children in the safe environment of the YWCA. October 6--The YWCA Wheeling Family Violence Prevention Program hosted a free family dinner night to educate local parents about the importance of good nutrition and eating dinner together as a family.

July 28--Passion is no excuse for murder. People experience passion, pain and anger everyday. Most of us have experienced the heart wrenching feeling of rejection and the stinging rage of jealousy, hurt and anger. The majority of people do not pick up a gun, knife or weapon to murder or harm. Nothing excuses this violence and the ultimate tragedy.
